Bing removal request builder

Microsoft has no bulk equivalent of Google's copyright removal program, so a removal request for Bing Search goes through the Microsoft DMCA web form one submission at a time. Paste a list of URLs and the text that form asks for comes back formatted and ready to paste.

Given a list of URLs, produce a ready-to-paste Bing removal block, in under 10 seconds.

Free: up to 10 URLs per block, 15 blocks an hour. Every block is complete and submittable as it stands, and any URLs past the cap are counted back to you.

One per line. Each must be the exact page address.

The name the request is filed under.

Optional. Where the work was first published.

The URLs and name you paste are formatted and returned, then discarded when the request ends. openDMCA stores nothing from this page except a hashed rate-limit key.

How to file a Bing removal request by hand

Microsoft handles search removals for Bing through its own DMCA process, and the difference from Google's that matters most is structural: there is no bulk programme. Every submission is a form, filled in one at a time.

    1. Open Microsoft's content removal request and choose the copyright option rather than the outdated-cache one. The cache tool refreshes a stale snapshot; it does not remove anything.
    2. Give the rights holder's name and contact details, a description of the work, and the full URL of each infringing page.
    3. Paste the good-faith and accuracy statements and sign electronically. Microsoft rejects submissions missing either statement without explaining which.
    4. Keep the confirmation. Bing does not report per-URL outcomes, so the confirmation plus your own later check is the only record that the request happened.

Bing also supplies results to several other services, so a removal there reaches further than the Bing website alone. That is the main reason it is worth doing even when Bing is a small share of the traffic finding you.

Where filing each Bing request by hand stops working

One batch through the Microsoft form is an hour's work at most, and the text above is everything the form asks for. Three things make it stop scaling.

There is no bulk route. Where Google accepts up to a thousand URLs in one submission, Bing takes them a form at a time. The work grows linearly with the list and never gets faster.

It is a second copy of a job you already did. The same URLs, the same name, the same statements, retyped into a different form, with a different rejection behaviour to learn.

Neither engine tells you what happened. Verifying a Bing removal means searching for the URL yourself afterwards, per address, and repeating that when anything moves.

openDMCA generates both engines' submissions from one list and re-checks the outcome rather than assuming it: how openDMCA covers search delisting across engines.

    Frequently asked questions

Does Bing have a bulk submission programme like Google's?

No. Microsoft has no equivalent of a trusted bulk removal programme for third-party copyright complaints, so submissions go through the web form individually. That is the single biggest practical difference between the two engines.

Should I file with Bing if barely anyone uses it?

Usually yes. Bing supplies results to several other search services and assistants, so a removal reaches further than the Bing website alone. It is also cheap to do once the text is already written.

What is the difference between removal and the cache tool?

The content removal request asks Microsoft to stop returning a URL. The cache tool asks it to refresh a stale snapshot of a page that has already changed. Using the cache tool for a leak does nothing useful.

How do I check whether Bing removed it?

Search Bing for site: followed by the full URL. A result means it is still indexed. Microsoft does not report per-URL outcomes, so checking yourself is the only confirmation available.

Can I reuse the Google text for Bing?

The sworn statements are the same in substance, but the forms ask for different fields in a different order. This builder emits the Bing wording so nothing has to be reshaped between the two.
